Miss World New Zealand will go overseas to represent New Zealand in the Miss World Pageant. Showcasing a New Zealand woman who is graceful, presentable, talented, intelligent, kind-hearted, has integrity and most importantly represents a wonderful, beautiful, colourful New Zealand.


Firestar has sponsored and endorsed a candidate for 2012: Miss Roimata Mitchell.

Roimata is currently studying towards a Bachelor of Law and Commerce majoring in Accounting at the University of Auckland. Concurrent with her studies she is working towards the title of Miss World New Zealand, has just secured a position at Deloitte as a Summer Intern in Tax Services and acts as a mentor to high school students who are at risk of not fulfilling their potential. She currently works, practising accounting skills at M GE Engineering and used to volunteer at the SPCA. Concurrent with these achievements she loves kickboxing, reading, travelling, going to the gym, horse riding and has a real love and passion for art.

As a Miss World New Zealand candidate, Roimata looks forward to representing the diverse culture and history of New Zealand internationally.

In the future she aspires to become a judge, start her own business and become a published author. Socially, she wants to contribute to Maoridom, by acting as a successful role model for young Maori and showcasing the unique and amazing gifts that Maori have thus adding to the positive perception of Maori internationally and locally. Another issue, very close to her heart is young people in New Zealand. In modern society young people lack self-assurance. Roimata aspires to instil a sense of confidence in young New Zealanders by sharing her experience with them in order to encourage them to take their place in the world.
