How to Use Open Office
OpenOffice.org or OpenOffice is a free open source software that can be used as a substitute for Office programs such as Microsoft Ofiice. It supports the ISO/IEC standard OpenDocument Format (ODF) for data interchange as its default file format, as well as Microsoft Office formats among others. OpenOffice also Supports over 110 Languages. FireStar Kiosks are all loaded with the lastest version of OpenOffice and is compatible with almost all other Office programs available today.
Instructions:
- Purchase a FireStar PIN card and login.
- On the desktop double click on the icon "OpenOffice 3.1"
- The open Office start up window will appear.
- Choose a program type from the list eg Text Document (Similar to Word), Spreadsheet (Similar to Excel), Presentation (Similar to PowerPoint)
- Click on the desired program and wait for it to load
